How to join?
The Alabama District of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ (ALJC) welcomes ministers and churches who share our commitment to spreading the Gospel and upholding our doctrinal standards. Below is a clear guide to the process of joining our district
1. Start Local
The first step in becoming licensed with the AL District of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ begins with a conversation between you and your pastor. It’s important that you have your pastor’s guidance, approval, and direction.
Use the button below to download a copy of the ALJC Constitution and read Article VIII. This details the necessary qualifications needed for membership.
Additionally review the Articles of Faith, page 7, which provides a comprehensive overview of our beliefs.
What if I'm the pastor of an independent church or affiliated with another organization?
We are thrilled that you are looking into a relationship with the ALJC. Your first steps will be a bit different than that of a youn minister.
First we encourage you to reach out to neighboring pastors within the organization, they will provide a better idea of what we are all about.
Then when you are ready reach out to a Section Presbyter for your location and set up a meeting. Section 1 covers the northern part of the state, where as Section 2 covers the south. If you aren't sure what section you are located in, feel free to reach out and we'll point you in the right direction They have valuable insights and resources they can provide you.
2. License Application
After completing the first steps, next will be to download and fill out the ALJC Membership Application. The application will collect basic information about you as a minister, your spiritual experience, and provides the District Board with an overview of you.
If you have any questions concerning the application, reach out to your pastor or Secction Presbyter. Once completed, you must submit your application to the Section Presbyter for processing.
All applications must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the next Distrct Board meeting (Normally held at Spring/Fall Conferences). Any applications that are submitted after the deadline are subject to not be considered.
3. Application Review & Interview
Once the District Board has your application you will be contacted by the District Secretary to schedule an interview with the District Board. They will ask questions concerning answers given on the applicaion and your doctrine views. The Secretary will also advise you of any extra documents that you may need to bring.
Once the interview is over, the District Board will vote on acceptance of your application, and will handle next steps from there.
